Since launching our Activewear line, we’ve been hearing the same questions again and again.
“Why not make everything 100% Merino wool?” “Why is there polyester in some pieces?”
At the same time, many of you have shared how these products actually perform — how they feel in motion, how they hold up, and how they fit into your daily routines.
These questions — and your feedback — matter to us.
Because at Flowool, we believe trust doesn’t come from claims, but from clear, honest information.
So instead of simplifying the answer, we want to share the full picture.
This is how we think about materials, performance, and transparency.
We Start With What Matters Most: The Material
We start with Merino wool — not as a trend, but as a foundation. Because in its pure form, Merino wool already delivers what many modern fabrics try to imitate: breathability, temperature regulation, softness, and natural odor resistance.
For our core collection, we use 17.5-micron ultra-fine Merino wool, designed for everyday comfort and effortless wear.
How Flowool Designs Merino Wool for Real Performance
But comfort is only one part of the equation.
When we started developing our Active line, we asked a different question:
How can we bring the natural advantages of Merino wool into high-performance movement?
Because performance demands more:
- Structure and support
- Durability under friction
- Shape retention during movement
At that point, it became clear — a single material alone is not enough.
Our goal was never to limit wool — but to expand what it can do.
So instead of staying within one material, we began developing a system around it.
A Structured Material System
We built a structured approach:
- Essentials Collection → 100% Merino wool, focused on comfort and natural performance
- Active Wear Line → Merino-based blends, engineered for movement, durability, and support
This allows each product to perform in real life — not just in theory.
We Prioritize Safety — Down to the Fiber Level
Many of you have asked how we treat our wool — especially when it comes to chemical processing.
We take that seriously.
Because what touches your skin every day should meet a higher standard.
Our Approach to Chemicals
We do not treat performance as an excuse for unnecessary chemical use.
- We avoid unnecessary chemical treatments in processing
- We do not use added fluorescent brighteners
- We actively avoid harmful substances such as PFAS
Because performance should never come at the cost of safety.
Superwash — Done Responsibly
We use Superwash treatment where needed — but always within strict international safety standards.
This allows our wool to remain easy to care for , without compromising on skin safety.
You don’t need to worry about safety — because this process is tightly regulated and widely used in certified wool textiles.
Verified Standards We Follow
We work with suppliers who meet recognized international certifications, including:
- OEKO-TEX® Standard 100
- Responsible Wool Standard (RWS)
- ISO 9001:2015
- Global Recycled Standard(GRS)
- International Accreditation Forum (IAF)
At Flowool, every product starts with Merino wool — and every material choice is made to bring out its best performance.
This is how we design. And how we build trust over time.
